Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 June 2026. This document is a comprehensive development template drafted to anticipate UK law (as the primary governing framework) while remaining usable for an international membership. It is not a substitute for review by a qualified solicitor licensed in England & Wales (and, if you operate or market in other countries, local counsel there) before this app accepts real members or real payments.
1. Who we are & acceptance of these terms
The Slink ("The Slink", "we", "us") operates a members-only social, dating, and events platform for adults. By creating an account, accessing, or using The Slink in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any policies referenced in them. If you do not agree, do not use The Slink.
2. Eligibility & age verification
You must be at least 18 years old, or the higher age of majority in your jurisdiction if that is older, to register or use The Slink. The Slink performs age assurance / identity verification before granting full access, and we may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone under the required age, or where verification cannot be completed. You confirm that all information you provide, including for verification, is accurate and that you are not impersonating another person.
The Slink's content and services are intended for adults exploring consensual relationships and lifestyle communities. You are solely responsible for ensuring that accessing and using a platform of this nature is lawful in the country, state, or region where you are located. Some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit adult-oriented dating, swinger, or content-monetisation services; The Slink does not knowingly offer services where doing so would violate local law, and you must not attempt to access The Slink from such a jurisdiction.
3. The nature of our service
The Slink is a venue and toolset for adults to meet, communicate, and (optionally) organise events or monetise content. We do not vet members beyond the verification steps described in these Terms, do not guarantee compatibility, conduct, or safety of any member, host, guest, or creator, and are not a dating, introduction, or matchmaking agency in the regulated sense in any jurisdiction that imposes such regulation. Nothing on The Slink constitutes a recommendation or endorsement of any individual, couple, host, or piece of content.
4. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access. Couple accounts are shared between two verified individuals; each partner remains individually responsible for compliance with these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from Privacy & Safety; deletion anonymises your record and revokes active sessions, subject to data we are legally required to retain (see our Privacy Policy).
5. Acceptable use
The Slink is consent-first. Without limitation, you must not:
- Upload, share, or transmit any image, video, or content depicting or implying a minor in any sexual or suggestive context, however generated. Any such content is reported to the relevant law enforcement and child-protection authorities (e.g. the UK's Internet Watch Foundation / NCMEC) and results in an immediate, permanent ban.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or discriminate against any person, or share another person's images, identity, or private information without their consent ("non-consensual intimate imagery" / doxxing).
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your age, identity, relationship status, or affiliation.
- Use The Slink for unsolicited commercial promotion, spam, scams, or financial solicitation outside of the platform's own paid features (Vault, ticketed Events).
- Upload content you do not have the rights to share, or that infringes a third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
- Attempt to circumvent age, identity, or payment verification, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the platform (including scraping, reverse engineering, or automated access).
- Use The Slink to arrange, advertise, or facilitate anything unlawful in the jurisdiction where the conduct occurs, including any form of commercial sexual services where prohibited by local law.
Breach of this section may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent termination, at our discretion, without refund.
6. Your content & the licence you grant us
You retain ownership of content you post (profile text, photos, videos, status updates, Vault content). By posting content, you grant The Slink a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the service (including automated safety/AI screening, thumbnail and blurred-derivative generation, and moderation review). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retained copies are required for legal, safety, or regulatory purposes (for example, content under active moderation review or law-enforcement request).
We use automated and human moderation, including AI-based content screening, to help detect content that breaches these Terms. Moderation decisions, including content removal and account suspension, are made at our discretion and are not guaranteed to be error-free; you may appeal a decision via support.
7. Verification, trust & safety features
The Slink may offer or require photo, video, document, or community-vouch verification. Verification reduces but does not eliminate the risk of encountering inauthentic accounts. Profiles become discoverable only after administrative review; we may suspend or decline to approve any profile at our discretion. Use the in-app reporting and blocking tools to flag conduct that concerns you — we aim to review safety reports promptly but do not guarantee a specific response time.
8. Premium subscription
Premium is an optional paid tier unlocking additional features (e.g. the activity feed, live broadcasting, Vault access). Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis until cancelled. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have certain statutory cancellation and refund rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent EU consumer protection law for digital subscriptions; nothing in these Terms limits those statutory rights. Outside a statutory cooling-off period, subscription fees are otherwise non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us. You can cancel future renewals at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
9. Events
Events listed on The Slink — including paid, ticketed events — are organised and hosted independently by members, not by The Slink. The Slink is not responsible for the conduct of hosts or guests, the safety, suitability, legality, licensing, or insurance status of any venue or activity, or any loss, injury, or dispute arising from attending. By RSVPing or purchasing a ticket, you agree that you attend entirely at your own risk and are responsible for following the host's instructions and any venue rules.
Ticket payments are processed via the payment method enabled on the platform at the time (which may be a simulated/test method while we finalise a payment provider suited to this category). The Slink retains a flat 15% platform fee on each ticket sold; the remaining 85% is owed to the host, subject to the payout process in place at the time. Refunds for paid events are at the host's discretion unless an event is cancelled by The Slink itself, in which case ticket-holders will be refunded the ticket price.
10. Vault & creator content
Members who become Vault creators may publish paid content subject to age verification, identity (KYC), and content-safety screening. Creators must own or control all necessary rights to content they publish and warrant that it does not depict, or appear to depict, anyone under 18. The Slink operates a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any such content, however generated (including AI-generated), is removed immediately, the account permanently banned, and the matter reported to the appropriate authorities. Revenue share, minimum payout thresholds, and payout mechanics are described in-app and may change on reasonable notice.
11. Payments generally
Where The Slink processes payments (Premium, Event tickets, Vault purchases) via a third-party payment service provider, that provider's terms also apply to the payment transaction itself. Prices are shown inclusive of any tax we are required to charge, where applicable; you are responsible for any taxes arising from amounts you earn as a host or creator.
12. Intellectual property
The The Slink name, logo, and platform software, design, and underlying technology are owned by The Slink or its licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology outside of using the service as intended.
13. Termination & suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or illegal conduct, failure of verification, or to comply with a legal or regulatory request. You may stop using The Slink and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9–14) continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Slink is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any member, host, or content is accurate, safe, lawful, or as described. Meeting people online and attending in-person events carries inherent risk; use your judgement, verify what you can, and tell someone you trust your plans when meeting in person.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Slink excludes liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, and for any loss arising from the conduct of other members, hosts, guests, or creators, or from events and content not directly created by The Slink. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable mandatory law. Where you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold The Slink harmless from claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your conduct toward another member, host, or guest, except to the extent caused by The Slink's own breach or negligence.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, the law, or our practices. We will post the updated Terms with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, will provide reasonable notice (e.g. in-app or by email) before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
17. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of- law principles. If you are a consumer resident in England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, you may also be able to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence may also apply, and you may refer an unresolved dispute to the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform. For all other users, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
18. International use
The Slink is operated from, and primarily governed by the law of, the United Kingdom. If you access The Slink from outside the UK, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law, including any laws regulating adult content, online dating, or the export/import of encrypted communications software. We make no representation that The Slink is appropriate or lawfully available in every location.
19. Severability & entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any in-app policy we reference, form the entire agreement between you and The Slink regarding the service, and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject.
20. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent via the in-app support contact, or to the contact details published on our website.
